A South Side woman has been charged in the shooting of a 27‑year‑old female in Chicago’s Pullman neighborhood, according to a Chicago Police Department news release.

Police identified the offender as Desiree Jemison, 42, of the 13200 block of South Langley Avenue. She faces three felony counts: Aggravated Battery/Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Felon in Possession (Second or Subsequent Offense), and Felon in Possession of a Weapon.

Jemison was taken into custody on May 5, 2026, by Chicago Police officers working with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. According to the release, she was identified as the individual who shot and seriously injured a 27‑year‑old woman on April 26, 2026, in the 13300 block of South Corliss Avenue in the 5th District.

A detention hearing was scheduled for May 7, 2026, at 2600 South California Avenue.
