General Motors has finalized its acquisition of GM Cruise Holdings LLC, making Cruise a wholly-owned subsidiary. The move follows approval from the Cruise Board of Directors. Cruise will collaborate with GM on autonomous vehicle technology and advanced driver-assistance systems, including integrating Cruise technology into GM’s Super Cruise system. Super Cruise, currently available on over 20 GM models and used by customers for over 10 million miles monthly, allows hands-free driving on 750,000 miles of North American roads. The companies will focus on expanding Super Cruise to urban streets and developing personal autonomous vehicles.
