Ford Motor Company announced a safety recall today impacting over 30,000 Mustang coupes and convertibles from the 2022 and 2023 model years. The recall addresses a potential issue with the secondary steering torque sensor, which could lead to unintended steering wheel movement and a loss of vehicle control.
The recall encompasses Mustang vehicles manufactured between September 15, 2022, and April 5, 2023. A malfunctioning secondary steering torque sensor may cause the steering wheel to turn without driver input, increasing the risk of a collision.
Mustang owners can confirm if their vehicle is included in the recall by visiting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website and entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at [link to NHTSA VIN lookup].
Alternatively, owners can contact their local Ford dealership for verification and scheduling purposes.
